Est. 1874 Baden-Baden Schwarzwald

A casino hotel in the spa town

Palais Kurgarten stands opposite the Kurhaus gardens: a nineteenth-century casino hotel with a classical gaming room, 132 rooms and thermal water piped in from the Florentinerberg.

Das Haus

A house with two centuries of habits

Baden-Baden has been receiving guests since the Romans, and this casino hotel has been doing it since 1874. Stucco ceilings, parquet that creaks in the right places, and a casino hotel floor plan that has barely changed: gaming rooms on the left of the hall, dining on the right, thermal baths below.

The casino hotel and resort was renovated in 2021 without removing anything worth keeping. Guests of the casino hotel receive spa-town passes, garden access and a table held at Rot & Weiss until 22:00.

Jacket required after 20:00, as it has been since 1874. Dealers work in German, English, French and Russian, and the casino hotel runs free instruction tables every evening at 19:00 for anyone who has never held a chip.

Water first, tables later

Thermal water arrives at 68°C from the Florentinerberg and is cooled for the pools. The casino hotel bath house keeps the old Roman-Irish sequence: warm air, hot air, soap brush, cold plunge, rest. Bath access is included in every casino hotel rate.

  • Roman-Irish bath, 3.5 hours from start to finish
  • Two thermal pools, one indoor and one on the terrace
  • Sauna garden with a cold well and quiet room
  • Seven treatment rooms inside the casino hotel spa
  • Gym and 20 m pool, open to hotel guests until midnight
Essen & Trinken

Three rooms, one kitchen

Baden cooking with a French accent, which is what happens eight kilometres from the Rhine. The casino hotel serves until 01:00 because the gaming room does not keep restaurant hours.
